David Plotkin - Max's Dad

David Plotkin grew up in New Jersey. In high school, David was an accomplished All-State athlete in football and basketball. David graduated from Syracuse University in 1994 with a Bachelors Degree and then pursued a successful career on Wall Street as a hedge fund trader. He married his college sweetheart, Annemarie, and together, had two beautiful boys, Maxwell and his younger brother, Alexander, and the new addition to the family, sister Ella, born in May 2009.

David Plotkin, a Wall Street securities trader in Manhattan, is also now committed to a different path—to making a difference while touching others faced with adversity. He is determined to provide for them the hope and strength they need to persevere. He is living proof that anything is possible and obstacles can be overcome if one believes in himself and his purpose.

Annemarie Plotkin - Max's Mom

Annemarie Plotkin graduated from Rutgers University in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree in Visual Arts. After graduating she worked for her families granite business for seven years. In 1999, she married David Plotkin and moved to New York City and became a Marketing Associate at Salomon Smith Barney, Inc. In 2005, she became Administrative Manager for a hedge fund, Saranac Capital Management. While working in the financial district, Annemarie had two boys, Maxwell and Alexander. In 2006, a year after she had her second son, she decided to stay at home with her children. She recently gave birth to a daughter Ella.

Richard Plotkin - Max's Grandpa & Co-Founder

Richard Plotkin is Max' paternal grandfather and one of the founders of The Max Cure Foundation, Inc. Richard graduated in 1966 from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School, with a BS in Economics. Thereafter, in 1969, he received a Juris Doctorate Degree from Georgetown Law Center. He became a member of the New Jersey Bar that same year.

Following a one-year judicial clerkship, Richard commenced employment with the predecessor to Day Pitney LLP, a regional law firm with several offices from Boston to Washington, DC, including in New York City and New Jersey. In 1975 Richard became a partner at that law firm, specializing during his entire tenure in commercial litigation.

On December 31, 2008, Richard retired from the firm as a partner to, among other things, devote more time to the work of the Foundation, remaining with the firm as Special Counsel. Richard's focus changed from assisting clients in achieving economic benefits in the courtroom to joining the fight against pediatric cancers such as that which afflicted Max and which could potentially, and do, afflict an untold number of children worldwide.
